climate ...
It has characteristics of the Mediterranean climate:
- Hot and dry summers and mild winters
- It rains only a few days a year with violent showers during the spring and autumn.
- The dazzling brightness of the Provencal sun
- Mistral, a strong dry and northerly wind, helps maintain the vines in good health.
But the climate is difference from other regions of Provence.
The area is surrounded by mountains Sainte Victoire & Sainte Baume which create a microclimate not so far from the continental climate.
Relieves block the sea breather and rains; therefore Sainte Victoire area is the place with lowest rains and highest temperatures variations. |
