The soil ...
The Appellation is located between two relieves: mountain Sainte Victoire and Monts Auréliens.
The vineyard is exposed on south at 250 meters high.
In the geological strata of the area (sandstone strata favourable to reptiles), some years ago dinosaur eggs were found. We cannot ascertain that vineyards go back to the same period…
But we know for sure that they go back to Greek occupation. In 1954, in fact, when replanting the vines, some bits of amphorae were dug out in a field. Today the splinters of the dinosaur eggs as well as the other findings are exposed at the estate in a mini-museum. |
